Targeted Grazing • Casper & Central Wyoming

Goats & Sheep that turn weeds into pasture

Prairie Munchers uses managed herds to clear weeds, brush, and ladder fuels—without herbicides or heavy equipment. It’s land care that’s safe for families, pets, and waterways.

What we do

What is targeted grazing?

Targeted grazing is the planned use of livestock to manage vegetation. Instead of mowing or spraying, we position goats and sheep where you need them most. Their grazing preferences let us reduce broadleaf weeds, brush, and annuals; hooves break up thatch; manure returns nutrients. With portable fencing and water, we control timing and density so your desirable plants get a chance to win.

Controls tough species

Goats browse brush and thistles; sheep polish grasses and broadleaf weeds. Great for kochia, leafy spurge, musk thistle, Russian olive seedlings, and more.

Fuel load reduction

Reduce fine fuels and ladder fuels around homes, outbuildings, and rights‑of‑way to lower wildfire risk.

Soil‑smart & water‑safe

No spray drift or soil compaction from heavy equipment; nutrient cycling improves soil health over time.

Quiet & family‑friendly

Low noise, no chemicals—neighbors (and pets) approve. Kids love meeting the herd.

Typical project sizes

  • 1–10 acres: homesites, pastures, greenbelts
  • 10–80 acres: HOA buffers, riparian corridors
  • Roadsides, easements, utility ROWs

Why goats and sheep?

They complement each other. Goats are natural browsers—great on brush and broadleaf weeds. Sheep graze grasses and forbs more closely. Together they hit multiple layers of vegetation for a cleaner finish.

Safety & fencing

We use low‑impedance electric netting with clear signage. Pets and kids are kept outside the fence while the herd works.

Water & logistics

We can haul water if none is available; otherwise we’ll tap a nearby spigot or tank. We’re insured and handle all animal care.
